New Walmart Wellness Day: Free Screenings and Affordable Immunizations for the New Year
As the new year unfolds, Walmart extends a warm invitation to communities
nationwide to kickstart their health journey by participating in the first
Wellness Day of 2024. On Saturday, January 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. local
time, nearly 4,600 Walmart pharmacies will offer free health screenings,
including glucose, cholesterol, body mass index, and blood pressure.
Additionally, affordable immunizations for flu, COVID-19, HPV, mumps, measles,
and more will be available.
The highlight of this exciting event is a surprise visit by
the renowned actor, comedian, and entrepreneur, Kevin Hart. The acclaimed
personality will make a special appearance at a Walmart store in the Los
Angeles area during Wellness Day. Hart's commitment to wellness led to the
creation of VitaHustle, his premium nutrition brand, available nationwide at
Walmart. Prioritizing wellness has had a transformative impact on Hart's life,
and teaming up with Walmart allows them to contribute to building healthier and
happier communities together.
Kevin Hart expressed his shared commitment with Walmart,
stating, “Walmart and I share a commitment in highlighting the profound
importance of prioritizing wellness. It's had a transformative impact on my
life, and teaming up with Walmart means we can build healthier, happier
communities together."
Walmart Wellness Day events will take place across nearly
4,600 Walmart pharmacies, providing a range of health resources from 10 a.m. to
2 p.m. local time on Saturday, January 20. To locate an event in your neighborhood,
visit Walmart.com/wellnesshub. Select stores will offer vision screenings,
in-store giveaways, and demos of wellness products. Health screenings,
affordable immunizations, and the opportunity to speak with pharmacists are key
features of these events.
Kevin Host, Walmart’s senior vice president of Pharmacy,
emphasized the significance of connecting with communities during the start of
the year through Wellness Day. He described the event as a fun experience that
allows customers to check their health while building relationships with the
exceptional pharmacy teams at Walmart.
Ralph Clare, senior vice president of Health & Wellness,
Consumables, highlighted the elevated browsing and sampling experience for
customers during Wellness Day. The event showcases the diverse assortment of
innovative items available at Walmart, encouraging individuals to embark on a
new wellness journey. Walmart aims to support customers in their wellness goals
by offering additional savings through rollbacks on healthy foods, vitamins,
supplements, and fitness gear.
Since 2014, Walmart pharmacies have hosted Wellness Days,
providing over 5 million free health screenings for customers. With more than
4,000 Walmart stores located in medically underserved areas, the retailer often
serves as the first stop for healthcare in rural and underserved communities.
